Having nature so close to Beach Town is definitely part of living well. We find that not having to get in a car to go do activities is one of the key ingredients here. One is more likely to be active, when it involves just walking out your front door to the sea, the mountains, or some of the lively ...
We just passed low tide, which will build up until an 8ft high tide at 2:30PM. We will have a new moon coming in tomorrow. Not much swell in the water for the next few days. For what we have, Playa Danta will put up some fun SUP Surf this week for us. Get down to PVR if you want to give it a try!
Congratulations to WAKE! The team has moved in to their space in Plaza Central and is beginning to accept bookings.
Thanks to everyone participating in the Tri-Camp this weekend. The open water swim will be a great start to the weekend. Big thanks to Connect Ocean for making this happen. Have fun!
I always know when the monkeys have come in to Town, we just see people looking up!
The best meteor shower of the year is tonight. We are just a few days shy of a new moon, so very little natural light will be out tonight. Las Catalinas does not have much ambient light, so I think the rooftop of Plaza Central may be a great spot to see it the expected 120 meteors fall each hour.
Cold front has also made it here to Guanacaste. We are in the mid 70s! Loads of sun and cool breezes.
We are very excited to announce the ground breaking of Calle Virginia #14! This design is by Sara Bega, one of the talented Town Architects of Las Catalinas. This is a schematic of the western facade. The whole street is coming along swiftly, it is going to be a wonderful experience to walk through ...
This rope swing is one of the most used pieces of equipment at Las Catalinas. It is so great to see people moving, jumping, climbing and swinging all over. Here's to being active on a Sunday!
The last few walk throughs are going on for Calle Cartagena #19. This is the first home to frame out the plaza behind the beach club, known as Plaza Celaje. The four other homes that touch this plaza are all underway. We will be very excited to complete the move in for the home owner in the coming ...
Hard to imagine, but this is our first attempt at a ping pong table. Hoping to make something we can keep down by the beach, we intend on making two of these and start pinging for pong with you soon.
There is a new roast in town. Get down to PVR and try the new blend Jake has created. In the last week, it has gone from really good to great. It has a really nice acidity and a bit of a punch when you step up from a single to double shot. The coffee may have changed, but it is still best enjoyed ...
It is that time of year again. The Reto is back! On this version, the segment is called the Reto Duro. There is an extra 5k on the route, and another 200meters of elevation gain. Follow the link below to see how the leaders are doing!
Those that ride our trails a lot enjoy using Strava. I was looking on there and see we have nearly 500 attempts on some of the segments. No doubt that being out and active on the trails is a big part of enjoying Las Catalinas.
This is my new favorite photo of Las Catalinas. It really captures the measured growth of Beach Town and invites me to go visit. I hope you like it, and that you come explore Las Catalinas soon!
Last night we enjoyed the combination of a full moon and perfectly clear atmospheric conditions. Tonight it is forecasted to be very similar, so make plans to get out for a hike, ride, or paddle!
