Just 84 Days until the Las Catalinas Triathlon, and 128 days until Xterra Costa Rica! Time to start getting ready. We are very much looking forward to having two training camps in December. They should be a lot of fun, make your plans to participate by clicking here.
Work on the Puente de San Miguel continues. It should be finishing right before the construction team takes a few well earned weeks off in December. Once complete, we will be able to bring in the landscaping behind Plaza Carlota. This bridge will make walking from Punta Penca to Paseo del Mar very ...
Tonight there will be nearly 350 people laying their heads to rest in Las Catalinas. That marker keeps steadily rising, and will be closer to 600 by this time next year. It is always fun to see how much more enjoyable walking through town becomes with more neighbors, visitors, and owners here.
So we may have incorrectly guessed the beginning of summer. Today it seems nature wants to get one more good storm. We may not see a drop again until May, so these last rainfalls are to be enjoyed. Looks like it will peak tonight and then brighten up by morning. The wind pushing the storm is coming ...
We are very fortunate to have a big team in the kitchen at Limonada and the Beach Club. These men and women put out a solid product, routinely. One of the many that make it all work in the back of house is Warlin. Recently, Warlin has been focusing on Sushi, which he usually puts up on Thursday ...
The fountain which centers Plaza Carlota is really taking shape now. The center column of the fountain ended up being hand carved, and now the main water feature is going to be mounted. I am very excited to see the final product, it is going to be a very special addition to Beach Town.
As expected, Jake and the crew at PVR put on a great event yesterday. The weather was nearly perfect. Competitors did have some chop and a few pretty big waves coming in. The start of our family race was pretty comical, watching everyone trying to get out past the breakers. The horn went off right ...
This period we are enjoying now, right before summer begins is one of the best times of year here. The Sunsets are getting more amazing by the day, and the mornings are crisp and blue. After the sun went down last night, it was 75 degrees with on shore winds. Dinner at Limonada was perfect. The ...
Next time you come through, a visit to the wood shop can be arranged. The team there is doing all of the windows, doors, cabinetry, and much of the furniture for the projects at Las Catalinas. They were also kind enough to do the awards for tomorrow's race! We are starting to see competitors show ...
Very excited to announce the ground breaking of #23 Calle Cartagena! Castillo Arquitectos and D'Aqui Interior Design have teamed up on this beautiful addition to this section of Beach Town. This is a very special street, walking down it will be something to enjoy for many decades to come.
Paddle Battle this Saturday! I went to get a coffee at PVR today and saw the Sweet Waterwear Jerseys made it in. These are arguably the most comfortable shirt ever made. They are soft, non restrictive, and do not have a seam on the shoulder. An excellent choice by the PVR crew for the giveaway. See ...
With the addition of another full time resident, the child population of Las Catalinas is quickly growing! School bus service has started to the La Paz Community School from Plaza Central.
Our version of spring are days like today. We see calm seas and a clear blue sky. Summer is on the way! After some months of rain, we get glimpses of days like this and get excited.
Not the most recent shot, but this is a fun look at the progress of town from the sky. This is a photo from back in June, so it is ancient in Las Catalinas terms.
It is very difficult these days to get good information or recommendations on travel. I find that we rely so much on our personal network of friends and colleagues to get ideas on where to go, and what to do when we get there. We really appreciate those that are "in the know" and up to date.
Move in date for our new neighbors at 3 Calle la Ronda is tomorrow! In preparation, we began to open up the passageway between 3 Calle la Ronda and 5 Calle la Ronda. This photo was taken of the lower portion of the connection. The stairs are covered in plastic so the walls on both sides can be ...
