Final items are being finished all around Plaza Carlota. This week we got the plaza planted with a few ylang ylang trees. Once they take hold, plaza will fill up with the aromatic smell at dusk that makes these trees so enjoyable. We see them around many homes in the surrounding communities, I am ...
Sitting in the rocking chairs this morning, and easily made a few new friends while catching up with old ones. PVR never disappoints!
Triathlon weekend is just a week away. Easily one of the most enjoyable times to be in Las Catalinas. Registration for the Triathlon is closing on Friday, or in the next 30 entries. Enter yourself or find a few friends to make a relay!
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week will have spectacular sunrises. Not because of the sun, but because of the moon. If you happen to be in Town, try to find a spot high on the hills around 5:30AM. I would say either the top of McHenry or Punta Guachipelines. Both spots take about thirty ...
We busy moving plants down from the nursery to behind Plaza Carlota. The landscaping effort will go up from the San Miguel bridge to the main road. This will be an enjoyable green area for the frontier of town. With some construction still ahead of us on Calle Cartagena, this green space is really ...
Final color selections for #14 Avenida la Antigua needed to be made this week. This is the building between Plaza Central and Plaza Lucia.
There can be rewards for waking up at 4AM to catch an early morning surfing session (or waking up for an early flight!).
The ping pong games down in Plaza Danta are on! We ended up moving the tables to a more shaded area, that gets less wind, and are in the process of upgrading the gear. We ended up needing the tele-handler to move these solid concrete tables. We tried with 25 people and it was too heavy!
The granite pavers we intend to use for Calle Cartagena and Calle Virginia are being prepped for their travel from Spain. We are hopeful that they will arrive in the next thirty days.
In the distance, you can see Calle Virginia coming down from Punta Penca. I have been using the San Miguel bridge to visit this part of town, and enjoy seeing others doing the same.
There are so so many spots to find in Town. They get to become yours for a few minutes, and you get to share them. Spend a few days here, find enough of those moments, and everything just sort of falls in place.
Living a life that mitigates stress, focusing on positive emotions -like joy, and creating a built environment that encourages physical activity.
The Reto Duro is getting more attempts. I was out running with a friend, and saw a rather large support team cheering on an attempt. Nice one Susan!
The yellow flowers bloomed in front of 12 Paseo Del Mar today. The Monkeys swooped in and seemingly could not stop eating them. This little tribe of howlers was there snacking until they could not do anything but take a nap. Later on in the day, they woke up from the nap and kept after it. Gave ...
We spent a long while hiking around today. Charles had the foresight to bring along an umbrella for the sun. I was jealous. It was a way better idea than my floppy hat.
