Our version of spring are days like today. We see calm seas and a clear blue sky. Summer is on the way! After some months of rain, we get glimpses of days like this and get excited.
Not the most recent shot, but this is a fun look at the progress of town from the sky. This is a photo from back in June, so it is ancient in Las Catalinas terms.
It is very difficult these days to get good information or recommendations on travel. I find that we rely so much on our personal network of friends and colleagues to get ideas on where to go, and what to do when we get there. We really appreciate those that are "in the know" and up to date.
Move in date for our new neighbors at 3 Calle la Ronda is tomorrow! In preparation, we began to open up the passageway between 3 Calle la Ronda and 5 Calle la Ronda. This photo was taken of the lower portion of the connection. The stairs are covered in plastic so the walls on both sides can be ...
Last night was beautiful. We had a group head out for our Thursday Night bike ride, and we caught one of the best sunsets I have seen in a while. There was just enough cloud cover to get the warm colors across the sky. Next time you are here on a Thursday, I do hope you join the group!
I did not really know about bioluminescent algae or plankton until I made it to Costa Rica. It tends to show up here pretty frequently. Two nights ago, it was reported that loads of it were on Dantita. We went over last night and were not disappointed. No matter how many times you see the stuff, it ...
Coming down the hill in to Beach Town last night, it was so great to see the Plaza Carlota Flats with lights on. I did not get a good photo to share, but will work on that one!
Happy Halloween! We ended up with about 150 trick or treaters at our house on Saturday. My favorite costume was a toddler with a storm trooper mask, and a floral print shirt. He was Tropical Storm Nate.
The sun has made it's way back out this morning. During the morning rounds, I saw some of the house moms putting little potted plants out to take some sun. They certainly got enough rain this month!
Those who woke up early this morning were richly rewarded with near perfect weather. We had a fitness class going, which was attended by a lot of the residents and home owners.
We have had a third day of rain, which continued through last night. The weather is in the low 70s, which means sweaters for those of us who live here full time! We still have a number of trails closed up, and will make some progress on them in a few weeks once things dry out.
Very exciting day for us today in Beach Town. We are busy preparing for our annual Halloween night on Saturday. Nothing seems to reinforce how enjoyable a walkable (and car free) town can be, like a night of trick or treat! We have a lot of full time residents that will come and enjoy a night of ...
With people coming in from the Airport (LIR) with transportation arranged through Concierge, they get two hours of rental car through ZIP Car. This is such a better deal than taking a rental car for the week.
Rain, rain, go away. Forecasts maintain a high probability in the formation of a low pressure system off the coast, with possibility of intensifying during the week. The graphic here shows potential rain fall for Wednesday, which could continue in to Thursday and Friday of this week.
It is a great time of year to be out on the SUP. We are really looking forward to the annual Pura Vida Ride event on November 11th. It is always a super fun day for participants and spectators. Hope to see you all out there!
Thanks for the feedback on our need to publish more maps. Here is a simple map showing the bridge I referenced yesterday. It connects Plaza Lucia with Plaza San Miguel & Calle Cartagena in the graphic.
