Rain or Shine: What is in Store for Town This Week

Yesterday, Nicoya welcomed much-needed rainfall, breaking the spell of intense sunshine that had persisted for months. After a morning full of sunshine, just after 1:00 PM, the heavens opened, unleashing a thunderstorm accompanied by strong gusts of wind. Unfortunately, the forceful winds caused damage to some electrical wiring, a home, and several trees. The National Emergency Commission (CNE) reported only two incidents of fallen trees, with no injuries reported. Although Las Catalinas. remained dry, the late afternoon brought some cloud cover, eventually clearing to reveal stunning skies with a nearly full moon.

During this season, we don't anticipate significant rainfall, though it's always a possibility. Across the country this week, mornings are forecasted to start with minimal cloud cover and high temperatures. Moderate winds are expected to pick up from Thursday through the weekend. Afternoons are likely to see partial cloud cover, a pattern that extends to Las Catalinas. The early part of the week may bring brief showers to the Central and Southern Pacific regions, with potential rainfall in the North and West of the Central Valley and Nicoya Peninsula. Nights are expected to be characterized by scattered clouds nationwide, with occasional gusts of wind in Guanacaste and the GAM, particularly from Thursday onwards.

Whether rain or shine, remember to embrace the beauty of town and stay prepared for whatever the weather may bring.
