In this Daily -- Exploring the Coast

A cloudier morning with some wacky wind today, coming from pretty much every cardinal direction at some point in the day. There was talk of rain in the area as well, not falling on town but speaking to the slowly approaching arrival of green season. Temperatures moderate in the mid 80s all day, and the clouds will give way to totally clear skies in the afternoon.

Some photos of last night's Cuba Libre dinner courtesy of head chef Gilberto Briceño, with some jaw droppingly beautiful cuisine. And it tasted even better than it looked! Looking forward to next week's edition and seeing where Alma Viajera takes us next.

Speaking of traveling, today our focus is exploring the coast, venturing beyond town to see all of the beaches that the area has to offer. If you've ever stood up on McHenry peak or the top of Guachipelines, you've probably looked out across Potrero Bay to see Flamingo. There are a number of beaches on the coast of the bay -- Playa Pan de Azucar, Playa Prieta, Playa Penca, the eponymous Playa Potrero, and scattered among them a number of smaller hidden beaches without names. If you ever have a day to venture out on two wheels and explore, adventuring to these little beaches and secret spots that may only be accessible through a little creative off roading or an aquatic excursion, and finding them all is an exciting way to experience the coast.
