While strolling through town, you might occasionally overlook familiar spots. Nestled in the heart of Las Catalinas you will find Plaza Lucía, centered around a shady, native ceiba tree. The plaza’s rounded shape with open air makes it a naturally social space. Surrounded by the colorful traditional architecture of town, its festive air calls to mind the rich history of squares in the Mediterranean and coastal Central America.
As one of the largest plazas in town, Plaza Lucía serves as a perfect venue for activities, from children learning to bike ride—free from traffic concerns—to bustling events with ample space for dining and entertainment. Located on Avenida la Antigua, this plaza has hosted numerous celebrations where up to 150 guests can mingle against the backdrop of picturesque town views.
Named in honor of Las Catalinas’ founder Charles Brewer's daughter, Plaza Lucía offers a welcoming community space where residents and visitors can come together. Make sure to take a moment during your next leisurely walk through town to truly appreciate all the plaza has to offer.
