Last night, the Bolivian artist, Jose Luis "Koqui" Handal, inaugurated his month-long art exhibition at Center of Joy.
Koqui characterizes his style as a fusion of modern and contemporary elements, celebrated for its vibrant use of color. As a self-taught artist, he has forged his creative path through hands-on experimentation with a variety of techniques, starting in ceramics. Drawing inspiration from the world of nature and his everyday life, Koqui's acrylic-on-canvas masterpieces are notable for their striking, vivid aesthetics and heavy use of spatula strokes. Many of his works carry powerful messages related to environmental conservation.
If you could not attend last night’s opening, be sure to visit Center of Joy during the month of November and take in Koqui’s magnificent work.
