In today’s The Daily, we honor the life of Papaya, who passed away this past Friday.
Papaya was one of the most beloved members of our community and the loyal companion of Luis Diego Calzada, one of the original members of the development team. Over her 17 years, she was a quiet witness to the growth and evolution of Town.
On July 13th, 2023, Plaza Papaya was inaugurated as a lasting tribute to her constant presence. If you visit it, you’ll find a sculpture of her peacefully lying in front of a fountain. You can read more about the plaza's inauguration here.
Though she is no longer with us, we honor the deep bond she shared with our dear friend and the ways in which she touched the spirit of Beach Town.
We know how deep and meaningful our connections with our pets can be, as they are like family to us. We send our heartfelt support to Luis Diego. It brings us comfort to know that Papaya will always have a place in Town and that her life will be remembered and celebrated here.
