In this Daily -- Sunset Trailblazers

A pleasant morning today with temperatures in the high 70s until around 9am, rising up to the mid 80s by the afternoon. There's not much wind today, only a slight breeze from the east, and the air should be relatively neutral in terms of humidity, with dew point around 68F. A decent swell today, peaking at around 2ft but averaging below that throughout the day, and a high tide at 11am, falling throughout the afternoon. It should be an excellent day to be out on the trails in the morning with the temperatures rising slowly, and right after lunch the falling tide should be ideal for some fun in the waves.

Today the first official Sunset Trailblazers hike will be departing from Central around 4:30pm, heading up onto the trails to get a view of the sunset from some of the best vantage points in town. Weather conditions should be excellent, with temperatures gentle and warm, and a light fresh breeze coming over the hills into town, not too dry but not too humid either. More so, visibility is expected to be to the horizon, meaning that from the lookout points above town it will be possible to watch the sunset as it touches the coast from Las Catalinas all of the way down to the south and out of sight.

Recommended equipment for the trip is a pair of good hiking shoes, some light and comfortable clothing, plenty of water, a headlamp or flashlight for the journey back down, and -- of course -- a camera.
