In front of Stucasa there are several cacti and one of them was just in bloom. These flowers are not often seen, and they only last a day. This one is a Harrisia fragrans which is quite a rare species. It’s known as fragrant prickly apple and Caribbean applecactus. The flowers smell amazing, especially at night time. Different pollinator insects are attracted to them, like the stingless black bees in the picture which are endemic to Guanacaste.
