Today it feels like December.

What does that mean coming from a Costa Rican? Here the holiday season spirit becomes alive in December once we feel the “Vientos alisios”.

This is a predominant wind system in the area coming from the Northeast and although it is constant all year round, the winds come into the country with more strength in December and until April. The first two weeks, as the winds start coming in with slightly more intensity, there is such a special breeze and feeling in the air, which marks the beginning of the dry season.

Sometimes throughout the year there are days that feel like this and today so far “it feels like December”. There is a cool, dry breeze and very clear, crisp blue skies.

Sea is calm with waves of approximately 0.15mt, with water temperature average at 84°F. Expected average temperature during the day is also 84°F, dropping to cooler 73°F at night.
