The climate in Costa Rica has 2 main seasons: The Dry Season and the Wet Season, but there is a special time of the year known as the Veranillo de San Juan (Little Summer of Saint John). It normally happens in June-July, and is a small break from the Rainy Season. Land is lush and green because of past rains, but skies are more similar to those in the Dry Season, blue and very sunny. This little summer is great for surfing, as it normally brings consistent long-period ground swells and all-day offshore winds, which also keep a lovely breeze around.
