Looking out the window, you can already start to see the greenery coming back in town slowly and surely, with the slight increases in moisture around town signaling to many trees that the May rains are coming. There's a definite freshness in the air today that follows, and we're expecting the on and off cloud cover to get heavy right around lunchtime today and hang around all throughout tomorrow.
And speaking of trees, quite a few people in town have discovered a brand new search engine recently, one that plants trees with every search.
The search engine is called Ecosia, and it's probably one of the simplest, easiest ways to contribute to protecting the planet. Powered by Bing, Ecosia works just like any other search engine, with plugins for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox to make it a totally seamless, behind-the-scenes change.
But the trick here is that any advertisements or suggested searches that you might run into during your browsing go straight to funding the planting of trees all across the world. There's even a counter in the top right of the page to help you track exactly how many trees you've planted, with almost 1 tree planted per search.
Not too bad for a zero-effort change to something that's a big part of our day already.
