Today is the start of a long weekend in Costa Rica as the country celebrates the national holiday of Día del Encuentro de las Culturas, and with arrivals all throughout Friday town should be very lively. Who knows what new friends might be walking the streets the next few days?

We’ve got a light rain falling across the valley as of time of writing, the tail end of a heavy downpour last night, and we’re expecting a pleasant combination of warm sunny days, light rains in the afternoons and mornings, and a spot or too of heavier precipitation across the weekend. It’s standard Guanacaste green season weather -- warm sunny mornings, some light rains, but otherwise pretty much impossible to predict. And I think that’s actually something that makes the people of Las Catalinas more at peace. Rain or shine, they’re ready for anything.
