Today is the start of a long weekend in Costa Rica as the country celebrates the national holiday of *Día del Encuentro de las Culturas*, and with arrivals all throughout Friday town should be very lively. Who knows what new friends might be walking the streets the next few days?

We’ve got a light rain falling across the valley as of time of writing, the tail end of a heavy downpour last night, and we’re expecting a pleasant combination of warm sunny days, light rains in the afternoons and mornings, and a spot or too of heavier precipitation across the weekend. It’s standard Guanacaste green season weather -- warm sunny mornings, some light rains, but otherwise pretty much impossible to predict. And I think that’s actually something that makes the people of Las Catalinas *more* at peace. Rain or shine, they’re ready for anything.
