Walking along Paseo del Mar I noticed how colourful is right now. The Bougainvillea plants are definitely the ones standing out more. They are locally know as "Veraneras" (from the Spanish word for Summer: Verano) because the warmer and sunnier it gets, the more colourful their flower-like spring leaves become. Gardens in town have been planned using plants that can adapt to local climate. Veranera's don't just adapt to the different seasons... The drier it gets, the more they show off.
