Central Park's Dantas Have Arrived

Earlier this week, we shared a sneak peek that the dantas were on their way—and now they’ve arrived!

The dantas, which are concrete benches, are a beautiful way to honor the names of the beaches that embrace Beach Town. Each bench was made in a pair: a mother and her baby. These represent Playa Danta and Playa Dantita. A fun fact is that in Spanish, adding the suffix “-ita” means small. So Dantita literally means “little danta”, making it the perfect complement to the mother bench, Danta.

We invite you to come sit on these new, beautiful benches and see them up close. If you missed our previous note about the connection between this animal and the beach’s name, you can read more about it here.

It’s a small but lovely reminder in Central Park, that even in Town, nature and art can come together to create moments that delight and inspire.
