One of the most beautiful stairways in Town can be found beside Building 53, rising gently toward Plaza Rambla. It is a pedestrian connection that already had its own charm, with the kind of scale, views, and movement that make walking through Town feel like part of the experience.
Two weeks ago, this stairway began a new stage, as the large planters that embrace the climb were planted with a mix of species that will bring height, color, texture, and shade to this part of Town.
The selection includes plumerias, phoenix palms, red and pink bougainvilleas, zamias, monsteras, salvias, and the very recognizable heliconia, with its orange flowers that look like a bird opening its wings. That is why it is also known locally as avecilla, or “little bird.”

The planting also includes several philodendrons, cacti, and agaves, bringing together a diverse variety of green tones, leaf shapes, and plant sizes. These layers are characteristic of tropical landscapes, helping create a lush atmosphere and a landscape that will continue to grow into the space over time.

Plants always bring a special kind of excitement to Town. They soften edges, add texture, create shade, and help each corner feel more complete. In many ways, planting feels like the true final touch of a project, even when the building itself was finished months before. It is the moment when a place begins to feel settled, alive, and ready to become part of people’s daily routes.
As Plaza Rambla continues taking shape, with its trees, fountain, and surrounding spaces, this stairway is becoming one more invitation to move through Town on foot. It now serves as a connection, framed by beautiful greenery, between Beach Town and El Prado. From there, it connects to the stairs that will eventually lead to Lantana through the pedestrian axis planned as Paseo de Los Arcos and Plaza Cachimbo, where a temporary set of earth-formed stairs was recently featured in a previous edition of The Daily.
We encourage everyone to take a walk up the steps, visit Plaza Rambla, and enjoy how this area is becoming more complete each week.

Little by little, these spaces are finding their place in daily life throughout Town, becoming part of the paths, pauses, and small moments that make Las Catalinas feel connected.
