Women Riding Together on the Trails

Many residents know that our trail system was thoughtfully designed for mountain biking, and over the years we have seen incredible riders take on technical climbs and fast descents. We have also shared stories about Juevones, the group of intermediate and advanced bikers who meet every Thursday afternoon to ride together.

Today, however, we bring a different kind of story. One rooted in courage, friendship, and female empowerment.

Seven women in Town have been gathering to ride together. Many of them are beginners, which makes what is happening even more meaningful. Two of the women have stepped into leadership roles, organizing the rides and guiding the others as they build confidence on the bike.

For now, as the main trails can feel technical, they have started on the outskirts. They load their bikes onto a car rack, drive up the Donkey, ride out toward Zapotal, and explore the lower sections of Secreto and the switchbacks along the last section of the D Trail. Little by little, they are learning the terrain, practicing their skills, and getting stronger.

What makes it beautiful is not only the riding itself. It is the camaraderie. The encouragement. The laughter after a tricky section. The shared bravery required to try something new.

We are incredibly proud of this group of adventurous residents. They are having fun, building confidence, and creating space for one another to grow. Mountain biking asks for conditioning, focus, and a sense of adventure. These women are showing up for all of it, together. We cannot wait to see how their skills evolve and how their love for the trails continues to deepen as they continue to choose to be there for one another.
