Earlier last week, a special wildlife sighting was shared between residents in Town that quickly caught our attention. White faced monkeys were spotted along Sendero E, in the lower section near the property across from Zapotal, right along the road line and just as the trail begins to climb on the way back.
The sighting came from one of the neighbours who mentioned that the last time he had seen them in that same area was about two years ago. To encounter them again, and in the very same stretch of forest, feels both surprising and reassuring.
White faced monkeys, also known locally as monos cariblancos, are known for their intelligence and social behavior. They move in groups, often communicating loudly as they travel through the canopy. Seeing them in the dry tropical forest surrounding Town is always a reminder that these trails are part of a living, breathing ecosystem.
If you are out on Sendero E in the coming days, keep your eyes and ears open. And as always, observe from a respectful distance and allow wildlife to move freely through their natural routes.

Thank you to Gonzalo (Chalo) for sharing the picture and location and helping us document yet another beautiful encounter in the trails around Town.
