Costa Rica recently experienced significant weather events, with three tropical waves hitting the country last week. These waves led to 139 flooding incidents, causing disruptions and challenges for many communities. The heavy rains and thunderstorms that accompanied these tropical waves have highlighted the need for continued vigilance as we move into the new week.
According to the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN), the possibility of heavy downpours and thunderstorms remains high for the upcoming days. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
However, there is some positive news on the horizon. The IMN forecasts that the last week of June will see a lower moisture content in the atmosphere. This shift in weather patterns is expected to result in less rainy conditions and may bring about a brief dry spell, known locally as a "Veranillo." Although this Veranillo might be weak due to isolated rains, it offers a welcome respite from the heavy downpours experienced recently.
As always, it's essential to stay informed with the latest weather information from reliable sources and prepare accordingly for any weather-related emergencies.
