Arriving with Ease: Getting to Las Catalinas, Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Getting to Las Catalinas has never been easier, as more flight paths continue to open from all over North America. In late December, Guanacaste Airport marked a significant milestone by welcoming the inaugural Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Liberia, Costa Rica. The fully occupied Boeing 737-900 touched down, carrying 178 enthusiastic passengers eager to embark on their Costa Rican vacations.

The introduction of this new nonstop route establishes a crucial link between the Guanacaste region and major West Coast cities in the United States. Additionally, for travelers utilizing LAX as a connecting hub, it streamlines access to Costa Rica, enhancing convenience and connectivity.

Being one of the top five markets for visitor origin, the connection with LAX holds strategic significance. According to 2023 statistics, Los Angeles surpassed other major cities such as Houston and Dallas in terms of visitor numbers.

As the high season kicks into full gear, a substantial increase in tourism numbers from North America and Europe is anticipated. Authorities foresee the Liberia Airport playing a pivotal role in accommodating a significant influx of tourists eager to explore the renowned beaches and resorts of Guanacaste.
