Join Lucas Currie, Head of Collective Impact at Las Catalinas, as he takes us behind the scenes into town’s composting processes in Finca La Estancia. Approximately 150 kilograms (about 330.69 lb.) of Las Catalinas’ food waste is processed daily with wood chips from construction, dirt, and sediment from the wastewater treatment plant to create high-quality organic compost. This impactful composting not only processes waste but also aids in reducing erosion and conserving water. Watch the video to learn about why it is important to have healthy soil.
Lucas oversees a multitude of incredible projects that homeowners, visitors, and staff can be a part of. Volunteering opportunities are consistently open, so be sure to check Las Catalinas' events for upcoming opportunities to get involved. You can create a collective positive impact starting today by beginning to compost and inspire your neighbors to join in.
