Yesterday, Halloween began with running shoes and plenty of energy in Las Catalinas, as more than 70 people gathered in Plaza Danta for Trick or Trail, organized by ONDA Move Club and hosted by Las Catalinas.
With a live DJ playing and participants excited to head out onto the trails, there was plenty to look forward to before the run even began. ONDA Move Club usually holds its events on the road, making this morning an opportunity to try a different setting, with forested trails and incredible ocean views along the way.
The morning began with a warm welcome and introductions from the organizers and the Las Catalinas team, followed by a guided warm-up with music to get everyone moving. Before setting off, participants received an overview of the route and met the people who would lead the run.
Runners could choose between completing one 2.5 km loop or taking on a second lap for a total of 5 km. Beginning at trailhead A6, the route brought them back to A1, just a few steps from the beach and the bridge over the estuary. With two distances available, participants could choose how much ground they wanted to cover while sharing the experience with the group.
By around 8 a.m., the run had wrapped up, and breakfast at Celeste gave everyone a delicious reason to stay a little longer. Offered at a special price for the event, the meal included gallo pinto, eggs, tortilla, sausages, fried ripe plantain, coffee, and juice. After a sunny morning on the trails, it was a welcome chance to refuel, sit together, and exchange stories from the run.
Commercial Partners in Town also joined in the morning’s activities, with Pintacafé offering pieces for participants to paint and The Store hosting a Britt coffee tasting.
The morning continued with a yoga session offered by ONDA Move Club in Plaza Danta, where several participants gathered to stretch and relax with the ocean as their backdrop. After the excitement of the trails, there was time to slow down and enjoy a few more moments together with the beach as the perfect backdrop.
Thank you to ONDA Move Club and everyone who joined us for such a joyful start to Halloween. With the trails explored and breakfast shared, there was still more fun ahead as Town got ready to welcome the evening’s costumes, trick-or-treaters, and celebrations to come later in the day!
