As part of Las Catalinas Doorway, the Tennis Program, launched this past August, has already been a great success.
Alex and Steff Taulère are leading the Tennis Program at Las Catalinas. They have been tennis coaches in Costa Rica since 2020, but since the start of the program in Town, they sensed something special taking shape. They lead the program under the direction and vision of Tim Cass, whose 35 years of experience in the industry, combined with Alex and Steff’s experience and passion, have resulted in a program designed to learn, have fun, and foster connection.
Las Catalinas’s Well Living Philosophy includes pillars such as movement and community, and this program has embodied those values while offering new opportunities for both homeowners and visitors to take part in an active and connected lifestyle.
Alex and Steff shared, “There’s a certain magic here in the ocean air, the laughter on the courts, and the people who bring their energy and love for the game. Working alongside Tim Cass, whose mentorship and vision have been instrumental in shaping the program, has been incredible”.
They have also received warm feedback from their clients. Lourdes, said: “When I visited Las Catalinas, my sister-in-law suggested I try Cardio Tennis with Steff and Alex at Pura Vida Tennis. I hadn’t picked up a racket in years, but the instructors’ genuine love for the game instantly renewed my passion. Every class is a positive, high-energy experience. They combine fantastic coaching with enthusiastic instruction. I truly cannot wait to return to Las Catalinas next year and book more lessons.”
Another client, Jenn, shared:“My kids just love tennis every week with Steff and Alex. They are such positive and calm coaches. The kids really respond to their lessons, and their skills have improved so much. The class is adapted as needed depending on the kids’ skills and demeanor, always in a fun but educational way.” Finally, Danny added: “Alex and Steff’s energy is contagious. During Homeowner Weekend, they organized their first Tennis Social: Doubles & Bubbles, which was a great success with more than twelve attendees and competitors.
The Activities and Sports Program from Las Catalinas Doorway is already planning new initiatives, such as a community app to make court bookings, event sign-ups, and activity scheduling smoother than ever, helping make the practice of sports easy and accessible for everyone. The vision for the future also includes a welcoming pro shop, Tennis and Pizza Nights for kids, family tournaments, and summer camps, all starting in Town's courts.
