Humpback Whale Sighting off Playa Danta
Just days ago, a magnificent humpback whale graced the waters right in front of Playa Danta.
If you find yourself strolling from one side of town to the other, remind yourself to take a moment to look towards the ocean during August and September, the prime humpback whale mating season. During this season, the creatures are highly active and breeding, choosing the Guanacaste area to nurse their young. You may be able to catch jumps or movement from the shoreline or while on the ocean paddle boarding or sea kayaking. Remember to always keep a safe distance.
