In this Daily -- Festival de La Luz Photos and a Casa Chameleon Cooking Class

A mild morning today with temperatures starting in the high 70s and rising to the mid 80s as the day goes on. The wind should be steady throughout the day around 8mph from the north, with gusts slightly higher, adding a cross breeze to the usual wave action in the cove. Swell today should be relatively active, averaging around 1.5 feet, with a high tide around 10 am, and dew point is around 68F today, which is neither particularly dry nor humid.

There was lots of fun to be had down the road yesterday as the Festival de La Luz went on in Potrero. It was exactly the spectacle that was promised, featuring elaborate costumes, jugglers, fireworks, special musical performances by the students of Potrero and the surrounding areas, and even the arrival of a special guest!

After the parade, the celebration continued on the Potrero soccer field and in the surrounding streets, with live music, DJs, and continued performances and fireworks until the sun had long gone down. Part of what makes Las Catalinas special is being a part of such a vibrant Costa Rican community, and yesterday was a great chance to celebrate with our neighbors.

In town activities are the focus today though, with the usual HIIT class this morning and a special event this afternoon -- the Casa Chameleon Cooking Class. If you're interested in learning from some of the best culinary minds in Las Catalinas, and of course getting to try out some of the food afterward, make your way up to Casa Chameleon this afternoon at 3:30. More details available on the Las Catalinas Weekly Planner.
