In this Daily -- the Sunday Morning Activities at Las Catalinas

The good weather from the weekend continues today with clear blue sky and sun throughout the day. Temperatures will start in the mid 70s around dawn, rising slowly throughout the morning before peaking in the mid 80s at noon, and should slowly decline towards sunset. Winds are down today, only around 6mph coming from the east as we start the day, but shifting towards the north and picking up as the day continues. Moderate waves today as well, hanging around the 1ft range and peaking up around 2.5, with a low tide mid morning, and slowly rising throughout the day.

A lively and fun set of Sunday morning activities yesterday, with both planned and impromptu events going on all around town. Out on the shore, the kite making class was a big hit, and all throughout the morning you could see the brightly colored handmade kites soaring through the air up and down the beach.

Up top in Limonada, the stage was set for a pair of high-stakes Latin American soccer games, both showing at the same time. First was the Superclásico in the finals of the Copa Libertadores, the legendary rivalry game between Argentinian clubs Boca Juniors and River Plate. Normally a fierce affair, the game was elevated by the fact that this contest took place in the final of the Copa Libertadores, the most prestigious title in South America, and got so heated in its first round that the finals had to be moved across the ocean to Madrid. The game Sunday was a thrilling contest which saw 6 goals spread over 120 minutes, and finished with River standing tall as the champions of South America.

On our shores, in a game with supreme importance to Costa Ricans, we saw Herediano face LD Alajuelense in the championship of Costa Rican soccer, the Torneo Apertura. The Torneo Apertura is the most sought-after prize in Costa Rican futbol, and in a back and forth game which saw goals from Jared McDonald, Allan Cruz, and Jonathan Moya, Herediano pulled out the victory in a penalty shootout.
