Recently, a joint effort between Las Catalinas’ teams and the Agroforestry Department came together to introduce a set of best practice signs, now placed in two locations along the beach. Their purpose is simple: to help visitors keep a few thoughtful guidelines in mind, ensuring a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for everyone.
The signs include reminders such as collecting trash and leaving no trace, using designated waste and recycling bins, and avoiding feeding wildlife. They also note that there are no lifeguards on duty, encouraging swimmers to remain aware of currents, tides, and rip currents.

Visitors are also reminded to be cautious around jet skis, boats, and other motorized vehicles, and to pay attention to the beach markers: red poles indicate rocky areas, while green poles signal fewer obstacles.
Equally important are the guidelines that protect the natural environment. Avoid stepping on coral, touching marine life, or collecting shells, and opt for reef-safe sunscreen when spending time in the water. Keeping music and noise at a reasonable level also helps preserve the calm atmosphere of the beach.
These signs have been thoughtfully placed in strategic locations, allowing them to inform without interrupting the natural landscape or the views that make this place so special, helping everyone care for the beach while continuing to enjoy it.
