At the end of last month, RICSA, one of the General Contractors in Town, took an important step by installing solar panels at their offices.
The initiative comes from a clear intention: to lessen their environmental impact wherever possible. Construction will always bring a footprint on the natural world, through energy use and CO₂ emissions, but with actions like this, RICSA is showing how sustainable practices can help balance that impact.
Six new solar panels now provide the electricity needed to power their office, harnessing the energy of the sun in a place where it shines abundantly. You can watch a little bit of their installation process in the video below.
It may be a small change in scale, but it adds meaningfully to their ongoing sustainable practices. Today we celebrate their choice to go beyond what is required, taking action out of awareness and responsibility for the role they play in the construction industry.
