A rare find near Copper & Stone: a rhinoceros beetle was recently discovered in town and safely relocated to the nearby reserve. Known for their impressive horns and size, these beetles are a rarity in the area.
What makes this beetle even more fascinating is its life cycle—before reaching adulthood, the rhinoceros beetle larva spends at least two years living inside a log, feeding on decaying wood.
