Planting the Future: Las Catalinas joins Regional Initiative

This past Monday, Las Catalinas joined a regional reforestation group formed by the Municipality of Santa Cruz. We’re proud to be part of this important initiative alongside the local wildfire brigade and representatives from Tamarindo, 27 de Abril, and Coopeguanacaste—all working together to help strengthen the region’s forests.

As part of the effort, Las Catalinas received a donation of more than a 100 from Coopeguanacaste, including both native and fruit-bearing species. These will be planted in areas of ecological and ornamental interest across urban and peri-urban zones in the region.

The donation also included four wildlife crossing signs to support the broader reforestation efforts. These signs will be placed along the paved road leading into Las Catalinas. Additionally, two compost bins were donated, which will be used to create compost for future planting efforts.

Las Catalinas remains committed to protecting and restoring the forests that surround us. We recognize the importance of a healthy ecosystem and are honored to collaborate with local partners who share that vision.
