Pick Up a Paintbrush Tomorrow at Estudio Rambar

There is something special about making time to create something with your own hands, especially when it means trying something entirely new. This October, Estudio Rambar is bringing a little more art into everyday life in Las Catalinas, inviting residents and visitors to pick up a paintbrush and explore painting alongside Guanacaste artist Alberto Carmona Deesquipulas.

Known for his work inspired by Costa Rica's landscapes, culture, and traditions, Alberto brings an academic approach to his classes, introducing participants to painting techniques through practical, step-by-step instruction. And while the word academic might sound a little intimidating, no previous painting experience is necessary. Curiosity and a willingness to try are more than enough to get started.

The first session takes place tomorrow, Thursday, October 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Estudio Rambar. Participants will collectively choose a subject to paint before working on their own 20 × 20 cm canvas, with Alberto guiding the process from beginning to end. It is an opportunity to learn a new skill, experiment with color and technique, and leave with a painting of your own.

A second experience will take the creative process outdoors, offering participants the chance to paint by the beach, with the coastal landscape providing a different setting for an afternoon of art.

Both experiences are open to anyone ages 15 and up, from complete beginners to those hoping to develop their painting skills. The cost is $80 (₡36,000) per person, including all painting materials, drinks, and snacks.

Spaces are limited, so anyone interested in joining can reserve directly through Estudio Rambar's Instagram.

And who knows? Perhaps an afternoon with a paintbrush will reveal a creative talent you didn't know you had.
