If you have walked by Mainstreet or looked toward Montaña while on the beach or the trails, you may have noticed how the landscape is slowly beginning to change. As Montaña, our most recent Preconstruction project, continues to take shape as the next neighborhood in Town, with teams working steadily across the site.
Construction continues to move forward at a good pace, and over the past couple of weeks important structural work has been taking place. Behind the scenes, teams have also been advancing electrical and mechanical installations that will support the buildings as construction continues. With these systems already completed and tested in some areas, the project is now ready to move forward with the pouring of the first concrete slabs. The construction crews have been installing the steel reinforcement that will support the floor slabs of 6 of the Montaña Flats buildings.
Infrastructure work is also progressing steadily throughout the site. While much of this work happens underground and may not always be visible, it plays an essential role in preparing the project for the next phases of development. At the same time, earthworks continue in nearby areas to prepare the terrain for additional buildings that will begin construction in the future.
At the same time, the first walls are beginning to rise, allowing the outlines of the future apartments to slowly become visible.
It is always an exciting stage in construction, when a project that once existed mainly in drawings begins to appear in real form on the landscape.
With clear skies, beautiful sunsets, and sweeping views toward the Pacific accompanying the work each day, it has been a wonderful season for construction to keep moving forward. We are excited to continue sharing the progress of Montaña as this new area of Town gradually comes together.
