As of August 1st, a new Rent a Car office is now open in Danta Bay, making it easier than ever to rent a car directly from Town.
This new location offers services from Alamo Rent a Car, National Car Rental, and Enterprise Rent a Car. This is ideal for those staying in Town who want to explore nearby destinations across Guanacaste.
Rentals are available in a range of vehicle categories, from sedans to 4x4 SUVs. When planning your outing, keep in mind the earliest pickup time is between 8:30 and 9:00 am, and the latest rental can be made at 4:00 pm.
You can book online through the Alamo, Enterprise or National websites, or simply stop by the office in Town. The office hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a midday break from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. There, staff will provide a quote based on your travel dates and requirements.
If you’re a foreign visitor, you’ll need to present your passport with the entry stamp, a valid driver’s license, and a credit card. If you’re Costa Rican, you’ll need to show your national ID (cédula), a valid driver’s license, and a platinum or gold credit card, depending on the car you want. In both cases, you must be at least 25 years old. Drivers between 21 and 24 can rent, but an additional young driver fee applies. Once your documents are verified and the payment is complete, the staff will coordinate the delivery of your vehicle at your requested time.
