La Estancia has been especially lively these days, as this month continues to welcome new members into Las Catalinas’ extended family. Alongside Rainbow, also known as Bola de Nieve, there is now another new arrival: a baby goat named Malteada.
The name comes from what makes Malteada stand out the most: his beautiful coat. You’ll recognize him by his white fur with large brown spots. The combination of these two colors is what inspired the name, which translates to "milkshake" in English.
Malteada has a family history that feels particularly special. He is the son of Chente, a young goat who was himself born at La Estancia less than two years ago, and of Luciana, a gentle presence at the farm who has already welcomed two other baby goats: Catalina, whom we shared about a few months back, and Felipe, now stepping into his role as the older brother.
A fun detail at La Estancia is that sheep and goats share the same space, creating a small, interconnected world where personalities quickly begin to show. The staff has noticed that Felipe is especially playful, often teasing Chingo, Rainbow’s father, before running off. It’s a dynamic that brings a light and joyful energy to the farm.

As for Malteada, he is still settling into his first days, quietly exploring his surroundings. So far, he seems curious, attentive, and gently finding his place among his neighbors.
If you find yourself nearby, La Estancia is always open for a visit. Sometimes, the smallest new lives have a way of bringing a fresh sense of wonder to a familiar place.
