Las Catalinas in Parade: A New Look at Life in Town

Over the past few months, Las Catalinas has been featured across several international media outlets, including BBC and the Today Show. This time, it’s Parade, a digital platform and magazine that recently shared a piece highlighting Las Catalinas as an ideal destination for a spring escape.

In the article, Las Catalinas is described as a kind of “Amalfi Coast” in Costa Rica. The comparison offers a first glimpse into something many here experience every day: a place shaped by the principles of New Urbanism, where walkability, human scale, and thoughtful design define how life unfolds.

Cobblestone streets, open plazas, and ocean views are part of that story, but so is the feeling of moving through Town with ease. Here, the “commute” might be a short walk to the beach, a stop for coffee, or a spontaneous encounter with a neighbor. Sometimes, even a howler monkey becomes part of the scene.

What stood out most in the piece was how it captured the way businesses shape daily life in Town. The article features familiar faces, including Alex and Steff from the Tennis Program, and Brian from the Residential Sales Team. Through their perspective, the writer is guided through the rhythms of daily life, from morning coffee and fresh empanadas at Pura Vida Ride, to afternoons by the beach, and casual meals shared across Town.

During the interview, they took the writer on a journey through Town, moving from their go-to spot for coffee and fresh empanadas at Pura Vida Ride, to wood-fired pizzas at the Beach Club, healthy and flavorful dishes at Nature’s Table, and highlighting the Las Catalinas Collection as the perfect place to find beautiful, curated pieces the writer described as items you’d actually want to wear back home, not your typical souvenir. Through these stops and stories, the article captures not only the ease and convenience of life here, but more importantly, the warmth that can be felt and experienced in Las Catalinas.

We’re glad that through features like this, more people around the world can begin to discover Las Catalinas. With a global audience, Parade helps bring visibility to the life that happens here every day.

This article, along with others that continue to emerge, is part of an ongoing effort by the Destination Marketing team to position Las Catalinas on a global stage, contributing to a broader conversation about travel, community, and how we choose to live.
