Last week, our Design & Pre-construction Department Head, Daniel Marín, shared April’s Town Growth Report, and among the updates was the completion of the five La Rambla buildings, along with their official handoff from the Construction and Design Department to the Las Catalinas team now in charge of their maintenance as residents and businesses continue to fill the remaining available units.
Construction of La Rambla began in December 2023 and spans a total of 8,854 m². The project is composed of five buildings designed with the intention of bringing more life and dynamism to Main Street, with commercial spaces on the ground level and 60 apartment units starting on the second floor. This type of architectural configuration allows for constant movement and activity at street level, while offering increasing privacy as you move up through the upper floors.

La Rambla is the closest development in El Prado to Beach Town, meaning it is the shortest walk from El Prado to the beach and the trails. It also introduced an important innovation to Town, as it marked the first time Las Catalinas, as a developer, offered a long term rental product through the Well Living Residences in Buildings 70 and 71. This has been a very successful initiative, with only a few units remaining available. It also offers the unique opportunity to enter into a rent to own contract, allowing those who want to experience life in Las Catalinas to gradually save toward ownership while already living here, in a seamless and practical way.
By introducing new price points and alternatives to traditional Town homes, La Rambla has opened the door for many who wanted to experience life in Las Catalinas before committing to a larger investment. It has also created the opportunity for more people to live in a place that many dream of, but often experience only as visitors. Today, La Rambla is home to one of the highest concentrations of full time residents in Las Catalinas, with approximately 50 people living there.
Each building has its own particular character. Building 39 is the closest to Central Park, offering immediate access to the tennis courts and soccer field, making it easy to move back and forth throughout the day. Building 47 provides one of the quickest connections to Beach Town, and its top floor apartments offer some of the best ocean views, along with some of the largest kitchen layouts within La Rambla. Building 53 has its main entrance facing La Rambla Plaza, with a generous arrival space, while its rear building offers top floor apartments with ocean views toward the front and views of Lantana and El Prado toward the back.

Buildings 70 and 71 have attracted many young couples and families, along with their pets, creating a lively and active atmosphere throughout the day. It is common to see both children and adults walking their dogs through the plaza, which now has established trees and vegetation and will soon be home to its fountain. As El Prado continues to develop, the plaza is beginning to feel more embraced by the surrounding homes and residences, including nearby projects such as Lantana and Montaña.

Of the commercial spaces in La Rambla, seven are already open and operating, with more expected to open soon, continuing to strengthen the commercial fabric of Town and El Prado.

La Rambla has expanded the range of living options available in Las Catalinas and introduced new ways of experiencing life here. We celebrate the work of the Design and Construction team in bringing this project to completion, and look forward to seeing how these buildings continue to shape daily life in Town.
