In our continued effort to enhance sustainability, we are thrilled to announce our new compost program! By turning food waste that would typically end up in landfills into high-quality organic compost, we're making a positive impact on our environment. This rich compost will be used internally, sold, or donated to local agricultural projects.
We're excited to share that all the restaurants and the grocery store in town have joined this initiative. Homeowners are encouraged to participate as well. Simply leave your organic waste at the designated drop spots:
Our goal is to eventually have a drop spot in every neighborhood. While the higher streets pose logistical challenges due to limited car access, we're committed to finding solutions. If you have specific composting requests or needs, please reach out to lucas.currie@lascatalinascr.com to coordinate directly with him.
For those interested in a more advanced setup, we offer a three-piece carbon filter compost bin for $45. This bin allows your compost to breathe without fermenting, ensuring it doesn't smell or stink up your room. You can store your compost for a few days and then take it to your nearest drop spot, dump it out, wash it, and repeat.
Join us in making town a more sustainable place.
