A special Halloween celebration is already in the works in Las Catalinas, and this year comes with a very exciting first: for the first time, we will be celebrating on Halloween day itself, October 31.
After last year’s celebration filled Town with costumes, families, games, and plenty of excitement, this year we wanted to create a place where anyone who wants to celebrate Halloween can do so right here in Town. Consider this your official save the date for a special day designed for the whole family, with trick or treating around Las Catalinas, games, music, great food and fun moments planned throughout the celebration.
More details will be shared as the date gets closer, but for now, there is one special preview we can already share. Alongside the Halloween festivities, this year’s celebration will also honor a Costa Rican tradition that takes place on this same date: Día Nacional de la Mascarada Costarricense.
For that reason, the day will include a traditional mascarada and cimarrona, bringing local culture into the celebration and reminding us of the place we are in. It is a way to celebrate Halloween while also honoring Costa Rican traditions, keeping them alive, visible, and part of a day that brings people together.
So, keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, start thinking about costume ideas and get ready to come celebrate together in Town on October 31.
