Guanacaste Nights Returns to Celebrate Local Flavor and Tradition

This July, Guanacaste’s flavors, music, and traditions will come together once again with the return of Guanacaste Nights, a beloved cultural event dedicated to celebrating the region’s heritage.

Rooted in local ingredients, regional origins, and the chefs bringing this edition to life, the event is designed as a tribute to the richness of this part of Costa Rica. It is a celebration of food, culture, and community, bringing together residents, visitors, and locals through the flavors, stories, and traditions that make Guanacaste so special.

Following previous editions in 2019 and 2022, Guanacaste Nights returns from July 24 through 26 with a three day format across two different moments.

The first evening will take place on July 24 at Sentido Norte, in Casa Chameleon, with a five course dinner inspired by a reimagining of dishes and ingredients that have been present throughout Guanacaste’s history. This dinner will offer a more intimate way to explore the region’s culinary memory, honoring familiar flavors through a fresh and thoughtful perspective.

The celebration will continue on July 25 and July 26 in Las Catalinas, where guests will gather for a larger cultural experience in Town. With street food, music, dancers, and several food and drink stations, the event will create a lively and welcoming setting where people can come together around the traditions, flavors, and festive spirit of Guanacaste.

The timing also carries special meaning, as July 25 marks the Anexión de Nicoya, a national holiday that celebrates the historic annexation of the Nicoya region to Costa Rica. Because of this, the event becomes not only a culinary experience, but also a way to recognize a date deeply connected to Guanacaste’s identity.

For Las Catalinas, it is exciting to bring back an event that has been so well received in past editions. More than a dinner or a gathering, it is an opportunity for tourists, locals, residents, and visitors to share in a cultural experience that feels rooted, festive, and deeply connected to place.
