On Saturday, August 1, Town came together in a new setting as Fiesta La Rambla filled Plaza Rambla with life for an afternoon dedicated to experiencing this growing part of Town, discovering more about its local businesses and visiting one of the furnished model apartments in Building 53.
From Main Street, colorful banners decorated the staircase between Buildings 53 and 70, inviting people to cross over and continue walking toward the plaza to see what was happening on the other side. By the end of the afternoon, the event had welcomed more than 300 people, including Town residents, familiar members of the community and many new faces of all ages.
The event especially attracted a younger crowd, along with people who were curious to spend an afternoon in Town, tour the model apartment and learn more about the different opportunities available in La Rambla, from long-term rentals to homeownership.
The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, helped by beautiful weather and plenty of ways to cool down throughout the afternoon. Papagayo served beers, while Pots & Bowls offered margaritas as well. Groups of friends and families gathered across the plaza, chatting beneath the tents, lining up for pizza from Pascual, BBQ from Tamaki, and fresh pastries from Coquelicot, or visiting the different stands to learn more about the products and services offered by local businesses.
Each participating business brought something distinct to the experience. Estudio Rambar invited artists to paint live during the event, while VOA Law sponsored the DJ, helping create a groovy and relaxed atmosphere.
D’Aquí Design, Noily’s and Blue Home joined as sponsors. Estudio Rambar, D’Aquí Design, Noily’s and Blue Home also contributed to the design and furnishing of the model apartment in Building 53, allowing visitors to experience the residence as a complete and lived-in space.
Ambitec offered coffee and welcomed guests to learn more about its selection of high-end appliances. Casa y Más and Masaya, two recognized furniture companies and event sponsors, brought several of their pieces into the plaza, creating comfortable areas where guests could sit and enjoy the afternoon. Bosque Seco also transformed the space with its tents, lighting and wooden benches, adding shade, warmth and additional places to gather.
There were thoughtful details throughout the event for both children and adults. Celeste offered free ice cream cones, Ponciana shared popcorn and the Commercial Leasing team, which designed and organized the experience, created activities that included kite painting for children and go-karts for both younger and older participants. Children could decorate their own kites, take them home and even try flying them around the open plaza.
More than an event, Fiesta La Rambla became a glimpse of the kind of social and urban life this part of Town can host. Surrounded by commercial spaces and designed around a flat, walkable plaza, La Rambla gives children room to run, ride their bicycles and play, while adults can take a walk, meet friends, sit outside or simply enjoy a relaxed afternoon close to home.
As the recently planted trees continue to grow and gradually bring more shade, Plaza Rambla is also beginning to fill with more people, businesses and everyday activity. The afternoon offered a preview of what is still to come in El Prado, a neighborhood that is already home to young families, couples and individuals who are experiencing the convenience of living in a Beach Town, close to the ocean and only a short walk from many of the places and services that are already shaping their daily lives. Together, these everyday conveniences, new experiences and shared memories are helping this growing part of Las Catalinas feel more and more like home.
