The Lantana project is making significant strides as earthworks continue. This week, we've reached a milestone by starting work on the middle of the terraces while detailing the upper levels.
A highlight of this development is Lantana's stairstreet, which will be the first of its kind in Costa Rica.
Stairstreets, a distinctive architectural feature found worldwide, add a vibrant dimension to urban environments. They create captivating pathways, often offering scenic vistas and hidden nooks. This unique design element allows for a variety of materials and layouts, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding landscape and becoming a focal point for pedestrians.
The design process for Lantana’s stairstreet has been meticulous due to its importance to the project's overall character. While the visible elements are impressive, it's the hidden infrastructure beneath the stairs that ensures Lantana's smooth operation. This network includes electrical, mechanical, and drainage systems, all designed to maintain a clean aesthetic.
To achieve this, our team has minimized the visibility of this infrastructure by incorporating discreet inspection lids with the iconic Las Catalinas cast-iron design. Any remaining elements, such as electrical transformers and meters, will be strategically concealed behind doors or located in non-public areas to ensure a seamless visual experience.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to bring this innovative and beautiful project to life.
