The weather around town is warm, gentle, and still today, with temperatures set to hang in the low 80s, the breeze light, and waves down between 1-2 feet. It's an excellent day for swimming and relaxing in the surf as the high tide hits around 2pm, but make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen.
The Plaza Danta renovation began in full force over the weekend, a project that aims to enhance the area as one of the central hubs of town. The new Plaza Danta will be a smooth brick plaza just outside of the Santarena hotel, accented with 3 large trees for shade and a specially crafted fountain as the centerpiece. The build team has described it as a space designed to not only be beautiful, but also adaptable to town events and the demands of daily life.
“We’re taking something that used to feel like the edge of town, and we’re evolving it to really become the heart of downtown,” said Sara Bega, one of the head architects on the project. “It’s gonna be really cool.”
