In this Daily -- Micro Greens Photos and a busy day at Casa Chameleon
The weather should be excellent for most of the day today, with temperatures starting in the mid 70s before plateauing in the high 70s for the entire day. A little bit of cloud cover should add intermittent shade throughout the morning, clearing up for sunset, which should be tremendous today. The wind will be milder for the most part today, dropping to almost nothing around lunch before picking up to a slight breeze this evening, which will keep the cove relatively still, with waves averaging below 1ft. On the trails the cloud cover combined with a pleasant dew point around 68F should be just the ticket, especially around dawn or before sunset.
The Micro Greens workshop yesterday with Chef Gilberto Briceño was a great time, with some families from the Las Catalinas community turning out to learn about micro greens, their place in the Costa Rican ecosystem, the history of their culinary use, and some tips for using the deceptively versatile and flavorful ingredient in cooking through the best way possible -- doing it themselves! All of the attendees, regardless of age and cooking experience, got to take part in preparing the micro greens in a number of different ways, wrapping up with everyone's favorite part -- a tasting.
As for today, things will be busy up the hill at Casa Chameleon with two events. In the morning, visitors and residents interested in learning about one of the staples of Costa Rican cooking -- the tortilla -- can attend a class to get a crash course from experts and some pro tips. Moving on into the afternoon, Casa Chameleon will be hosting Sunset Beats by the pool, combining DJs and drinks as the sun sets on town and offering one great way to enjoy today's excellent weather.
