In this Daily: Monday Morning in Town
A lot of excitement in town after a lively weekend. Between XPT wrapping up their Waterman Experience and plenty of residents and visitors in town, there was a high-energy atmosphere all throughout Las Catalinas during the weekend. That’s carried into the vibrant pace of life around town today, and town is humming for another day of summer in Costa Rica.
Today’s Conditions in Las Catalinas
Weather around Las Catalinas has settled into the green season ideal. Sunny with scattered clouds, temperatures in the low 80s, and a cool breeze coming off of the ocean. The mountain biking trails are smooth and well-packed. Gentle rains earlier this weekend cleared the dust without washing out.
Out in the cove, the waves are breaking perfectly for boogie boarding! Heights are between 2-3 feet and not closing out too fast. Conditions will only improve from here! Water temperature is in the high 70s, and as the tide falls heading into late morning, the surf will be a bit cleaner. Another example of Playa Danta living up to its reputation as one of the best boogie boarding beaches in Costa Rica.
A Walk Around Las Catalinas
There’s a blend of easygoing relaxation and bustling movement around town this morning. Down by the beachfront homes of Paseo del Mar, a few families are enjoying coffee on their front porches. Over by the Beach Club, ConnectOcean are welcoming excited students for their Explorer Summer Camp.
Up by Copper & Stone, a few visitors are slowly starting the day with a smoothie in the cool shade of the patio. Along the streets you can spot families strolling together. They may be heading down to Limonada for Breakfast, returning from an early splash in the beach, or just walking around taking it all in.
There’s also quite a bit of movement on the North and South sides of town. Plaza del Mercado is coming together, standing 3 stories tall and beginning to show some character already. Construction at The Center of Joy has begun in earnest. Calle Cartagena and Calle Virginia are lively and busy. A slew of smaller details show progress alongside several homes and flats nearing completion.
Altogether a classic day of summer in Costa Rica.
