In this Daily: A Sprinkling of French Culture in Our International Costa Rican Community

Today is Bastille Day, the French holiday honoring the Storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution. To celebrate, Santarena will be hosting their Bastille Day Brunch, followed by the Alma Viajera Pop-Up Dinner series on Tuesday night features Julia’s Paris. It’s a fun way to celebrate with the members of our community that have French heritage, and pay a little homage to a country whose influences can be seen in town (especially those of Eze).

The rest of the week around town will feature The Costa Rican Cocktail, a course hosted in the Beach Club on Wednesday, El Mercadito, the market in Plaza Danta, Sunset Gin & Tonics on the Santarena Rooftop terrace, and Sunday Brunch with Santarena.

What’s Going on Around Town This Week

After this morning’s brunch, the second major event of the week will be Julia’s Paris, a pop-up dinner hosted Tuesday night in the Beach Club at 6pm. It’s a classic meal put on by Chef Gilberto and team based on the cooking of Julia Child that offers a second chance to join the members of our community with French heritage in celebrating Bastille Day.

Wednesday afternoon features two events. First, The Costa Rican Cocktail at 2pm in the Las Catalinas Beach Club, a cooking session based on how you can easily create cocktails based on the vegetables and fruits of Costa Rica during your stay. El Mercadito follows at 3pm in Plaza Danta, where you can chat with local artisans as you browse a selection of handmade Guanacaste crafts.

The week wraps up with Santarena’s classics, Sunset Gin & Tonics at 5pm on the Santarena Rooftop Terrace, and Sunday Brunch at Santarena at 10am, with thoughtfully crafted food and drink in a casually elegant atmosphere perfect for meeting new friends from around town and the world.
