In Town this morning, the anticipation for the TRI is palpable, and will only continue to build. The staging area is set, and by this afternoon it will be filled with over 100 bikes and sets of equipment. The finish line is coming together on Paseo del Mar, and behind them, the stands, stalls, tents, recovery areas, massage tables, coolers, and containers are all starting to coalesce into the stage for this event.
All that remains is the steady welcoming of athletes and families over the course of today and tomorrow. The staging area opens at 3pm. Guided Aguas Abiertas training with Rom Akerson and Leo Chacón is this afternoon at 4pm. Team talks at 5pm. Pasta dinner in Limonada at 6pm. And tomorrow, preparations begin at 4:30am for a 6am start time for the TRI.
Lots to come and an exciting weekend ahead!
