A warm and sunny day today, with highs around 85 and moderate winds throughout the day. Temperatures will start in the high 70s and rise to the low/mid 80s before staying relatively steady, with a east-northeasterly wind blowing from dawn to dusk. Wave action will be moderate, and a falling tide during the morning will turn to a rising tide in the afternoon, which will be a great time to be in the water.
The big event going on this weekend will be the Las Catalinas TRI, for which the preparations can already be seen around town (like the finish line, which is already under construction). It's one of the year's most exciting events, featuring visitors and competitors from around the world, and starts Saturday afternoon at 6am. The festivities have started already this week, with some race camps in town, dinners going on Friday night, and competitors making their way here to stay for the race. Expect to see plenty going as the TRI comes to life in the next few days.
