Today’s Leap Day, and 2020’s extra day seems set to come and go as a perfect Guanacaste summer day. There were a few clouds right at sunrise, with some briefly cooler temperatures thanks to an onshore breeze. The tide’s been falling as the air’s gotten warmer, which was perfect for a midmorning boogie board in the moderate swell, and late afternoon looks to be a golden balance of breezy and warm at the sunsets.
It’s easy to feel lucky for today’s weather, but thinking back, it’s hard to put a finger on the last time that there was actually any bad weather in town. The warmest and sunniest days of the year are perfect for time out in the water or by the pool. The coolest, rainiest days of the year bring fresh new life to the trails, and offer Costa Rican snow days. And everything in between is just a happy medium.
So a day of wonderful weather, but it seems like most days are like that around here.
